Here are a male and a female wood ducks snuggled up close on a tree stump on the shores of Mud Lake in Ottawa.

Here is a photograph of a young wood duck chick swimming in the lake. I found a family of wood ducks at Mud Lake yesterday.  There was a mother and five ducklings swimming in the lake.  This photograph was taken with my Canon 7D Mark II camera and a Sigma 150-600 mm lens set at 600 mm. The shutter speed was set to 1/500 (IS), the aperture was set at f11 and the ISO was set at 500.

Pair of Wood Ducks

Here is a pair of wood ducks swimming on the Lake.  These colourful ducks are found in the lakes, streams and rivers of the area.  This photograph was taken with my Canon 7D Mark II and a Canon 70-300 mm lens set at 300 mm.  The shutter speed was set at 1/800 second, the aperture was set to f6.3 and the ISO was set at 640.

The male wood is one of the most colourful ducks seen in this area.  Their numbers are small, but can be found in the lakes, rivers and streams.

A pair of wood ducks swimming in Mud Lake.  Wood ducks are very colourful birds both the male and female have unique plumage.  They are found in lakes and waterways throughout Ontario.  This photograph was taken with my Canon 7D camers and a Canon 70-300 mm lens at 300 mm.  The shutter speed was set at 1/800 second, the aperture was set at F6.3 and the ISO was set at 640.

Wood Duck Swimming

After a summer of looking for this guy, I finally found him swimming at Mud Lake in Ottawa.  The wood duck is one of the most colourful ducks native to this area.  This is the male wood duck with his bright colours.  I took this photography with my Canon 7D camera and a 400 mm lens.  The shutter speed was set to 1/800 second, the aperture was set to f5.6 and the ISO was set to 2000 to capture this low light photo.
